Leveraging mid-level champions to build exec to exec relationships

Hi all - looking for ideas to leverage a relationship with a mid-level champion (manager or director) to build an exec to exec relationship (VP or CXO).

One idea we are working on is a surprise and delight gift box. We were thinking of sending very nice gifts to our top champions. I cannot figure out a way to tie in the exec to exec invitation - unless we just send the gift and call afterwards to follow up and ask for the intro. Thoughts? What has worked for you to intro your execs to customer execs? Thank you!

We host VIP dinners at large events to bring together sales leadership and highest possible titles at customers

We have sent travel gifts to executives to thank them for all that they do and invite them to simply connect with a c suite exec aka a peer at our company via an in person meeting in the coming days. We do that by requesting an email stating the days and times they are available and ensuring that all of the information will only be shared with the executive and the team coordinating the meeting.

Another tip is inviting execs to a community, execs LOVE connecting, mostly in person with their peers so that can not be ignored when connecting the first time.

Invite to do fireside chat at your internal employee event. “Will you join our company meeting and talk to our employees about x,y,x? We’d like to make a donation to your favorite non profit as a thank you.” Company kickoff, customer conference, etc.

Work with your PR agency to pitch a media opportunity that could involve the customer. Work the opportunity through their PR team. PR will take you right up the ladder higher in the org.

we sweeten the pot for internal event speaking opps with covering T&E and also setting up a dinner and meetings with our top product and engineering execs. That's always a winner if you can get them to commit for a quick trip to SF!
