π Hi all! I'm finalizing plans to launch my company's first Customer Advisory Board. For folks that do have a CAB at their organization, do you have members sign any terms and conditions? I'm putting together a rough draft to run by our legal team, so getting a pulse check on what's standard would be really helpful. Thank you!
Hi Anna! We don't have them sign anything, but we do have a Charter document they need to read over. We also cover it during our intro call before they officially join the CAB.
we have them sign an NDA. we also put together a summary of their commitments as a member - commit to attending meetings, participating in 2 acts of advocacy with us, etc.
+1 to an NDA required, with an overview of expectations of their participation per year (XX number of meetings, XX number of async/optional acts of advocacy)
+ 1 to the NDA and we also do a media consent b/c we have a photographer on site with us that also pulls b-roll for us. We have had great luck in securing video interviews also during the meeting.
We've also done video interviews during our 1x/year in person CAB meetings ! Here's one, and another. We pull each volunteer out of the meeting for 20-30 minutes to do the interviews in a suite or quiet common area at the hotel. Wish they didn't have to miss part of the meeting for doing this, but with only one full-day meeting format, there isn't any choice.
Thanks all! We're also planning on doing customer video interviews in conjunction with the event so will definitely have the media consent as a part of this. All really helpful input, I appreciate it!
