Creating First-Person Blog Posts and LinkedIn Articles

Who is creating first-person blog posts and LinkedIn articles (ghostwritten) in the customer's voice? I'm working on some of these and am wondering what plays best, especially on LinkedIn. If we're already telling the primary story in a traditional case study, then do you create something different for these other pieces? For example, a best practices piece or a focus on one use case or angle?

2 points, FWIW:

  • I don’t think anyone would really write a LinkedIn article similar to the way a case study is actually written.
  • From an SEO-perspective, it’s best that each post is a unique piece of content vs the same thing copied and pasted into another platform.

Thanks ! I agree. These would be more centered around them meeting their business challenges/goals with the vendor's solution as one piece of that.

I’d imagine these being framed as “lessons learned” or “overcoming obstacles” types of posts, not just to a specific platform but the tools + strategy too, so they’re actually valuable for others too.

I would frame it as thought leadership from that person's experience with your product, and link out to a case study. We've had a few customers do this organically, which is really nice.

Thanks, ! Great idea. And amazing that customers have done that on their own. It's a challenge to write them in each customer's voice. Do you have any examples you could share?

This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. It feels very authentic.

to clarify we didn;t work the customr on this at all, he did it on his own which explains why it feels genuine 😆

but i think you could replicate it and ghost write for a customer if you did a good interview with them beforehand

What a win! Right, getting that unique and casual voice is tricky. Thanks!
